Preparation For Barium Enema And Screening Examination
Instructions To The Patient
- Low Residue Diet
- No laefy vegetables ( Green vegetables)
- Plenty of fluids
- No solids, but can have plain liquids till examination.
- Please bring a bed sheet and a cotton sarong / gown.

- Examination will take about an hour.
- If you are unable to keep this appointment .Please inform the X' Ray Department without delay.
Preparation For Barium Meal And Follow Through Screening Examination
Instructions To The Patient
- Need 6 hour fasting
- Barium Meal Examination will take about half an hour
- For Barium Meal and follow through examination probably you will have to be in the X' Ray Department for about 1 -3 hours but occasionally further times may be required at intervals through the day or even the next day
